So I realised that I hadn't really made anything particularly exciting in Minecraft then, and I'd seen all of those lava suns, and thought, "Oh, ok, cool. WAIT."
It came to me then; I'd make a bowl of fire high above my base like a beacon. Of course it'd be made out of glass.
This is something I planned first in Wings3D. I made the outline of a circle with cubes until where I wanted the sphere to end, then put a plane that starts and ends at both end of the circle. Then I put a plane in and made a sphere, but cut out any cubes above that line. Eventually it looked something like this.
So then I made it in Minecraft. I forgot to save progress shots but it was pretty boring in progress. First, I made the stone pyramid structure. Then I made the glass bowl. Then I went down my mine a few times with 6 buckets and filled up the bowl.
I finished the structure just before Secret Friday Update 5, which added boats, so I went out to see my creation from a distance.
Sweet.

oops
I just slightly forgot about this blog. Think I might keep it up to track my Minecraft adventures, some game I recently got into. Not that anyone's been following this blog but online documentation is nice.
